10 / Migration

Move the site while keeping the useful routes and records

A new platform can look correct while old campaign links, translated pages or customer downloads stop working. We plan migrations around what people and staff already rely on, including the work needed to operate the new version.

Inventory the parts that need continuity

We identify public routes, Dutch and English equivalents, downloads, content relationships, forms, account journeys and connected systems. The inventory distinguishes a real replacement from a page being removed without one. Redirecting every old address to the homepage usually loses the visitor's original purpose.

For an illustrative Dutch wholesaler, a saved link to an installation guide should reach the relevant guide after the move. A contact route should remain a way to discuss the project, not become an unrelated marketing page. These decisions belong in the migration map before launch.

Rehearse with representative material

Scope can include route mapping, content or data transfer, integration adjustments, deployment preparation and focused regression checks. We compare record counts and relationships where appropriate, including attachments and historical status. A copied folder or a successful import count is not the whole acceptance result.

Make release responsibilities usable

We agree who approves the change, which environment is being reviewed and what recovery is possible. A rollback must account for any records created after the switch. Hosting, account access and maintenance responsibilities are explained in a handover that another authorised person can follow.

Faith Forge Labs works remotely from the United States. Review windows, language review and access arrangements are agreed for the project; no local Netherlands office or on-site availability is implied. Bring the current site, the reason for moving and the parts that must keep working. We can identify a safe first scope and the questions that need investigation before the wider move.
